On behalf of the NSW Government, welcome to Sydney for the 105th Rotary International Convention.

Sydney is delighted to be hosting your world renowned convention, giving Rotarians the opportunity to connect and engage at an international level.

Since 1910 Rotarians have gathered annually, and this year the convention brings to Sydney Rotarians from more than 150 countries. You will be meeting in the world-class venue Sydney Olympic Park.

I hope you take advantage of everything the host venue has to offer. As the site for the world’s premier sports festival, the 2000 Olympic Games, Sydney Olympic Park is a destination in its own right.

Rotary clubs from around the world provide outstanding service to the community and this convention will provide a great opportunity for like-minded Rotarians to connect.

Please make our home your home during your stay, and take time to explore NSW and Sydney’s hidden gems. Sydney offers our iconic landmarks from the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Manly Beach, Bondi Beach and many more. The city is full of wonderful things to do and see.

While you are here, the largest festival of light, music and ideas in the Southern Hemisphere – Vivid Sydney will illuminate the harbour foreshore and surrounding areas with more than 50 new light installations marking a walk from Circular Quay to Walsh Bay. There’s plenty to do outside Sydney too. The WorldHeritage listed Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley, Australia’s oldest wine region, are only a short distance from Sydney.

I would like to wish all Rotarians an enjoyable and memorable time in Australia’s premier State, NSW and thank you all for the community service you provide.
